UETCL Joins the Fight Against Cancer at the Cancer Run 2026
The fight against cancer took centre stage on 30th August 2026 as Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) joined thousands of participants at the Kololo Independence Grounds for the annual Cancer Run 2026, contributing to efforts to improve access to cancer treatment in Uganda.
Participating as a Ruby Sponsor, UETCL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Ugandans. UETCL staff turned up in solidarity with the cause, taking part in the run to raise funds towards the completion of a state-of-the-art cancer treatment centre at St. Francis Hospital, Nsambya, including the installation of advanced radiotherapy bunker facilities to house Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machines.
The facility is expected to strengthen the country’s capacity to provide specialised cancer treatment, bringing hope to patients and their families while contributing to improved access to essential healthcare services.
UETCL’s recognized that the Company’s responsibility extends beyond electricity transmission to contributing to the social and economic wellbeing of the communities it serves. Through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Company supports initiatives that address societal needs, strengthen stakeholder relationships and create lasting value for the public.
