Scope

The scope included the construction of a 132kV double circuit transmission line from Tororo via Opuyo substation to Lira substation, over a distance of 263km.

Contract Details

Contractor: Kalpataru Projects Transmission Line (KPTL)

Overall Status/ Physical Performance

  • The Opuyo to Lira section (115.5km) was completed and energized on 16th April 2020.
  • The section between Opuyo and AP14 in Mbale (112.8km) was completed and energized on 20th December 2020.
  • Construction works at the 34.7km section between Tororo and Mbale (AP1 to AP14) are yet to commence since the contractor KPTL is on board.
