The Training Centre was opened in 1955 in Jinja by the British Insulated Construction Company (BICC) to carry out Overhead Line training, Fitter’s training, Cable Jointing training, Safety courses, Fire fighting courses and Operations training. The centre is located in Njeru, Jinja District, Uganda.

Course Objectives

The Course is designed to provide participants with basic skills and concepts involved in the construction and maintenance of overhead lines. The course shall provide the participants with an opportunity to learn safe working practices and value of team work.

Power Line Electricians Level II ; Implementer add remove

Course Objectives

The Course is designed to provide participants with improved reliability of the overhead lines. The Course shall provide participants with ‘virtual age’ of the overhead lines. The course includes tours to designated areas/stations and involvement in actual line construction/maintenance where participants will learn and practice on real power lines.

Course is designed to provide participants with practical techniques and concepts involved in the construction and maintenance of overhead lines and overhead/pole mounted equipment. The course shall provide the participants with the opportunity to learn safe working practices and value of team work. The course includes tours to designated areas/stations and involvement in actual line construction/maintenance where participants will learn and practice on real power lines.
